Job Description

Real Estate Associate Attorney

Baltimore, MD

A premier Baltimore law firm is seeking a talented Real Estate Associate (3–6 years’ experience) to join our highly regarded Real Estate and Business Transactions Group. This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated attorney to work directly with sophisticated developers, owners, investors, and lenders on complex, high-profile commercial real estate matters throughout the region.

About the Practice

Our Real Estate and Business Transactions Group advises clients at every stage of the real estate life cycle — from acquisition and entitlement through development, financing, construction, leasing, and disposition. We are known for delivering strategic, business-minded counsel on sophisticated transactions that shape communities and drive economic growth.

The Opportunity

This client-facing role offers meaningful responsibility, early exposure to complex transactions, and the opportunity to build long-term client relationships. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong drafting and negotiation skills, and can manage multiple matters with precision and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating:
  • Purchase and sale agreements
  • Commercial leases (retail and office)
  • Development and construction-related agreements
  • Easement and access agreements
  • Property management and consulting agreements
  • Representing:
  • Sellers and buyers in acquisitions and dispositions
  • Landlords and tenants in retail and office leasing
  • Lenders and borrowers in debt financing transactions
  • Sponsors and investors in equity financing structures
  • Working on mixed-use, multi-family, affordable housing, shopping center, and office developments
  • Advising on condominium regimes, homeowners’ associations, and related governance matters

Qualifications:

  • 3–6 years of commercial real estate transactional experience
  • Experience with debt and equity financing
  • Familiarity with condominium and HOA formation and operations
  • Exposure to (or interest in learning) tax-advantaged real estate structures, including:
  • Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC)
  • Historic Tax Credits
  • New Markets Tax Credits

We recognize that no candidate will bring experience in every area. We value intellectual curiosity, strong fundamentals, and the desire to grow within a sophisticated transactional practice.

Why Join Us

  • Work alongside leading real estate practitioners in Baltimore
  • Exposure to marquee regional development projects
  • Direct client interaction and substantive responsibility
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial culture
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits
