Job Summary

We are seeking a highly reliable and experienced Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join a fast-paced Emergency Department (ED) team. This role requires strong clinical skills, the ability to manage high patient volumes, and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.

The ED at JFK handles a high volume of stroke, sepsis, and STEMI patients , making this an ideal opportunity for candidates who thrive in critical, high-acuity environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy procedures (certification required)
• Conduct EKG testing (certification required)
• Monitor and record vital signs
• Perform blood glucose testing using a glucometer
• Assist with patient care in a high-volume emergency setting
• Maintain accurate documentation and support clinical staff

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent PCT experience in an acute care facility
• Emergency Department experience preferred
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Strong, verifiable competency in:
• Phlebotomy
• EKG
• Vitals monitoring
• Glucometer usage
• Proven track record of reliability, attendance, and patient care excellence
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Must be fully available for assigned schedule (no conflicting job commitments)

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Completion of a Patient Care Technician Program (required)

Required Certifications

• EKG Course Certificate
• Phlebotomy Course Certificate
• BLS Certification
