Oracle Cloud Architect – Key Hiring Attributes

Scope: ERP, SCM, EPM, OTM (Oracle Cloud)

Role Focus: Validate functional and technical designs, including integrations

Critical Requirements (Must Have)

1. Cross-Pillar Oracle Cloud Experience

• Demonstrated experience across multiple Oracle Cloud pillars (ERP + SCM required; EPM and/or OTM strongly preferred).
• Understands end-to-end business flows (Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, Plan-to-Forecast).

1. Integration Architecture Expertise

• Strong experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
• Can design and validate API-based, event-driven, and batch integrations.
• Experience integrating ERP ↔ SCM ↔ EPM ↔ OTM systems.
• Understands error handling, performance, and data transformation best practices.

1. Design Validation & Governance

• Experience leading or participating in architecture/design authority reviews.
• Ability to challenge functional and technical designs constructively.
• Ensures scalable, supportable, cloud-first solutions (avoids unnecessary customization).

1. Financial Systems Understanding

• Strong knowledge of Oracle ERP Financials (GL, AP, AR, Subledger Accounting).
• Understands financial impact of SCM and OTM transactions.
• Experience with ERP-to-EPM data flows (actuals, budgeting, forecasting).

High-Value Experience

• Master Data architecture and governance.
• OTM freight settlement and ERP integration.
• Supply Chain planning and costing integration.
• EPM data integration (Data Management/FDMEE).
• Security architecture (roles, segregation of duties, identity management).
• Experience supporting multiple Oracle Cloud quarterly releases.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 10+ years Oracle experience, including Oracle Cloud implementations.
• Participated in at least 2 full lifecycle Oracle Cloud deployments.
• Has led cross-functional architecture discussions.
• Comfortable working with Finance, Supply Chain, and IT stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills — able to translate technical architecture into business impact.

Red Flags

• Experience limited to a single Oracle module.
• No Oracle Integration Cloud exposure.
• Primarily functional or primarily technical (not both).
• Heavy customization mindset vs SaaS configuration best practices.
