Job Description:
A well-established insurance organization with a strong regional presence is seeking experienced and customer-focused field property claims professionals to join their claims team. The company is looking to fill three positions across different Indiana territories. The ideal candidates will be responsible for handling a diverse range of personal, commercial, and farm property claims, including agricultural risks, by investigating losses, evaluating coverage, preparing estimates and guiding customers through the claims process with professionalism. Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and evaluate property damage claims for personal, commercial, and farm properties including agricultural structures.
  • Access various loss locations such as roofs, basements, and crawl spaces to thoroughly assess damages.
  • Prepare property estimates using estimating software such as Xactimate or similar tools.
  • Interpret insurance policies, endorsements, and coverage provisions to make accurate claim decisions.
  • Negotiate settlements and resolve claims in a timely and fair manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and refer potentially fraudulent claims for further investigation.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of claims activities and findings.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, field team members, and other stakeholders to provide outstanding service.
  • Adhere to company policies and industry regulations during all phases of claims handling.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and community partners.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in field property claims, preferably with an insurance carrier
  • Strong skills in inspecting, evaluating and estimating structural property losses
  • Ability to safely access roofs, basements, crawl spaces and other loss locations
  • Excellent investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Skilled in interpreting insurance policies and endorsements
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and resolve claims efficiently
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Working knowledge of Xactimate or similar estimating software (preferred)
  • Experience handling farm property claims, agricultural structures and equipment (preferred)
  • College degree (preferred)
  • Industry designations such as CPCU, AIC, SCLA or related credentials are (strongly preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant claims experience
