Job Description

Job Title: Digital Marketing Manager

The Digital Marketing Manager leads strategic development and performance oversight of integrated digital marketing programs for agricultural and agronomy clients. This role sets organic digital direction across web, email, SEO/GEO, content marketing, and organic social – ensuring cross-channel alignment and driving measurable outcomes from awareness and engagement through loyalty and conversion.

This position operates within a collaborative agency model, partnering closely with account marketing leads, creative teams, and a dedicated paid media team. Paid media activation is managed by a separate team; this role owns the organic digital strategy and execution across assigned accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with account marketing leads to develop integrated organic digital strategies aligned with brand voice, target audience, and client business goals.
  • Lead channel strategy across email, SEO/GEO, content marketing, organic social media, web, and influencer marketing – ensuring each channel contributes to a unified customer journey.
  • Develop and manage email marketing programs, including list strategy, segmentation, campaign planning, content approach, and performance analysis.
  • Partner with a dedicated paid media team to ensure organic digital efforts are integrated with broader campaign strategy and reinforce shared business objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, audience behavior, and campaign performance to inform strategy and generate clear, actionable reports for account teams and clients.
  • Analyze website performance using Google Analytics 4 and other tools, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Apply Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) principles to client work, ensuring digital content, platforms, and campaigns are structured for visibility and performance across AI-driven search and discovery experiences.
  • Anticipate and exploit emerging digital marketing trends, tools, and platforms to keep clients at the forefront of the industry.
  • Foster a culture of innovation by continuously testing next-generation marketing tools and translating cutting-edge trends into actionable strategies.
  • Support and encourage adoption of AI-powered tools and technologies to improve operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance the quality and speed of client deliverables.
  • Assist with project estimates and manage digital marketing budgets.
  • Coach and mentor team members through daily feedback and professional development opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Agriculture or agronomy industry experience required — crop protection, seed, ag-tech, farm inputs, or related agricultural markets strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the grower, retailer, and distributor audience dynamic within the ag market.
  • 7–10 years of digital marketing experience, including at least 3 years in a strategic or senior capacity within an agency or integrated marketing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise across organic digital channels: SEO/GEO, email marketing, marketing automation, content marketing, organic social, and web.
  • Proven email marketing experience — including campaign strategy, list management, segmentation, A/B testing, and performance optimization.
  • Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals and emerging Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) practices.
  • Strong experience defining KPIs, interpreting performance data, and translating insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics 4 and the ability to communicate data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience managing and developing digital marketing professionals.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence clients and senior stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDP), journey orchestration software, or omnichannel campaign management tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree or certifications in digital marketing, communications, marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience marketing crop protection products, seed brands, digital agriculture tools, or similar agronomic categories.
