Summary:
Responsible for keeping the buildings and grounds clean, sanitary, and in good condition for customers and employees. Tasked with monitoring the facilities grounds, heating and cooling, plumbing and electrical systems to ensure it functions properly. Depending on their specific tasks, may use a variety of handheld tools and power equipment to complete a variety of tasks to achieve a pleasant and functional environment.
Essential Functions:
Maintain a clean and safe working environment for customers and employees: Clean, dust and sweep customer areas/counters, displays, show rooms; gather and empty trash, replace trash bags as needed; clear snow and debris from walkways and parking lots, treat outside walking areas with ice melt; clean spills and other hazards with appropriate equipment; clean, organize and stock with supplies all conference rooms, break rooms, kitchens and customer lounge; monitor, repair or replace all safety signs; clean and organize all storage rooms/areas and storage buildings; apply pesticides, herbicides, or other treatments for unwanted animals or vegetation; mow and edge all grass areas, weed and mulch landscape beds, trim, remove dead, damaged, or unwanted trees or branches
Preserve a safe building envelope: Monitor and complete routine maintenance or minor repairs on floors, doors, windows, roof, foundation, lighting, fire extinguishers, HVAC, water softener, notify general manager and/or department managers of major repairs needed for the buildings and/or grounds.
Assist with delivering and receiving equipment: When assigned, assist trucking with loading and securing equipment for delivering, pilot for trucking, assist Lot Attendant with the receiving of equipment, assist Lot Attendant with upkeep of equipment on the lot.
Required Competencies:
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies. Must interact well with others and the people who work and visit the buildings they service. Need to understand general building operations and should be able to make routine repairs. Spend most of their workday standing to operate cleaning equipment. Must lift and move heavy cleaning materials and equipment. Must plan and complete tasks in a timely manner. Must be forklift certified
Required education and experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Working knowledge of lawn care, heating and cooling, plumbing and electrical systems.
Position type and expected hours of work:
This position is part-time, with a work scheduled of 3 days a week, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
