Pay: $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Archer Mechanical is currently seeking a dedicated full-time BIM Modeler to join our dynamic team as a long-term fit.

Archer Mechanical specializes in sustainable mechanical and plumbing systems, providing a design-build, design-assist, new construction, additions, remodels, retrofits, service and preventative maintenance.

The organization has been established since 1987 and has continued to grow rapidly over the past 38 years. Archer Mechanical produces a higher-value product cost-effectively and efficiently using progressive construction planning technologies, advanced construction materials, and manufacturing methods, reducing safety risks, schedule durations, and congestion on the job site while enhancing the construction results.

We are looking for an individual with 2-4 years of experience working with Revit or CAD models in relations to Mechanical Plumbing and HVAC. The BIM Modeler will play a vital role in supporting our engineering team by designing and preparing HVAC, piping, and plumbing engineering drawings.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate drawings based on mechanical specifications, engineering notes, and verbal direction from team leads. They will also utilize detailed drawings and design information to ensure adherence to project standards and procedures.

In this fast-paced environment of growth, we require someone who can effectively manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently, while remaining adaptable to shifting deadlines and priorities. Our diverse clientele spans various sectors, including healthcare, government, education, industrial, and commercial developments.

Our projects range from small sandwich shops to complex hospital campuses and high-rises. We’re expanding our design and project management team to keep growing efficiently and effectively.

This position is expected to report in person full time at our location in Salt Lake City. There is potential for a hybrid schedule once tenure and performance benchmarks have been established.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be self-motivated and take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Create installable, detailed mechanical piping and plumbing drawings based on mechanical specifications, engineering notes, and verbal direction from team leads.
  • Prepare and modify contract plan drawings, sketches, and verbal descriptions to create shop drawings for contractor approval and fabrication/construction use.
  • Perform quality control checks on drawings.
  • Utilize Revit to layout detailed drawings, diagrams, sketch's, schedules and schematics. As well as utilizing points for our Trimble robotic station for point creation and field installation.
  • Organize and maintain digital files and project documentation.
  • Utilize Revit, Bleabeam, and Navisworks for BIM coordination and shop drawings. As well as continue developing skills in Revit, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Communicate professionally with owners, contractors, and internal teams.

Critical Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-5 years experience working with Revit or CAD models in relation to mechanical plumbing and HVAC.
  • Intimate knowledge of Mechanical & Plumbing systems - And the ability to visualize piping and plumbing systems in 3D.
  • Fluent with Revit & Navisworks for BIM Coordination and shop drawings.
  • Strong skills with Bluebeam.
  • Ability to understand construction plans, specifications, and documentations including plans, & submittals.
  • Positive, team oriented communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and adaptable.
  • VDC knowledge.

Preferential Qualifications:

  • Fabrication shop or field installation experience with mechanical plumbing.
  • Familiarity with LOD Requirements and modeling for constructability.
